Dr. Harvey Mazer - Vision Therapy Optometrist in Weston, FL

Dr. Mazer has been a Board Certified Optometrist since moving to Florida in 1980. After practicing in North Miami Beach for 9 years, he established the first Optometric office in Weston, FL in 1989. Dr. Mazer's specialty practice moved to its current location in January 2018.

Education
He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1975 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1979. He was Residency trained at the Southern California College of Optometry in Pediatric and Developmental Vision Care. He received his Fellowship from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (FCOVD) in 1984 and maintains his certification to date. He has been a Consulting Physician at the HealthSouth Sunrise Rehabilitation Hospital caring for the visual needs of patients who have suffered strokes and head trauma. He has maintained a continual membership in the American, Florida and Broward County Optometric Associations.

Background
Originally from Baltimore, MD, he has been a resident of South Florida since 1980. Along with his wife Paula, who is a licensed optician, he currently resides in East Ft. Lauderdale after having lived in Weston for 29 years. Their daughter, 2 granddaughters and 2 granddogs still reside in Weston. Hobbies include skiing at Beaver Creek, CO, wine tasting and classic rock.

Dr. Marina Abdalla

Dr. Abdalla joined the practice in October 2019 after completing a Vision Therapy based residency in Bethesda, Maryland.

Education
Originally from Egypt, Dr. Abdalla spent most of her childhood living in Weston, Florida. After completing elementary, middle and high school in Weston, she attended Nova Southeastern University where she received her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Visual Science with a minor in Psychology in 2014. She graduated and received her Doctor of Optometry degree, also from Nova Southeastern University in 2018. She continued her education by pursuing a private practice residency focusing on primary care, Vision therapy and Neuro-Rehabilitation. Dr. Abdalla will be pursuing Fellowship from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (FCOVD), and she is currently a provider for the InfantSEE program. Professional memberships include the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, and Broward County Optometric Association.

Background
She has been a resident of South Florida since 2003. Hobbies include kayaking, hiking, and traveling to experience new cultures.
